Founded in 2018 by Chad Shores and Andrea Leary, Rad Rydz Rad Rydz has reshaped Mount Pleasant’s approach to golf carts – transforming them from course-bound novelties into versatile, street-ready vehicles. Their blend of technical expertise, creativity, and community focus—and the fact they started in a driveway—makes their story uniquely inspiring.

Initially focused on cart sales, Rad Rydz now dedicates about 80–90% of its business to servicing and repairing carts. They specialize in “second‑chance” carts – reviving older models with upgrades like increased speed, battery conversions, custom upholstery, sound systems, and more. 

As certified manufacturers of Low Speed Vehicles (LSVs)—street-legal with VINs, lights, and license plates—they create carts compliant for local roadways and island travel.

Andrea and Chad regularly donate carts to schools and local nonprofits—such as Mount Pleasant Academy and WakeUp Carolina—and collaborate with town events.

In 2022, readers of Mount Pleasant Magazine named Rad Rydz the Best Golf Cart Sales and Service, and they continue to earn recognition for quality and customer-focused service.
